Junior Club Update

Hi Team,

Welcome to the 2022 season. As the pre-season gets underway, please see a few updates for the Junior Club:

1. Registration

Although registrations for the full season aren’t open just yet, registration for Training Only is open. This provides insurance coverage for all players participating in any form of rugby training at the club. It’s essential that everyone registers through Rugby Xplorer in order to participate in training. Instructions to register are available on the website and we will notify everyone when the full season registrations open. To register and for more info about pre-season training, click here

2. Training Schedule and Pitch allocation

Training schedules and pitch allocations have been confirmed and updated on the website. These schedules and allocations are very similar to last season. The Head Coach of each Age Group will determine the specific date that pre-season commences. Many of the older Junior age groups have already commenced in preparation for their season, but we don’t expect U6-U10’s to commence their pre-season until Summer sports ramp down between late February and early March.

3. Growing the game & welcoming new players

One of our strategic objectives for the Junior season this year is to grow the game of Rugby Union in our community. It’s pleasing to hear from a number of people new to the sport and club expressing interest in registering for the upcoming season. Lets welcome our new members and make sure they feel connected to the Wanneroo family!

4. Communication

There are a variety of methods of communicating across the club. We generally share club-wide information on the website, email and Facebook & Instagram (where appropriate). Age-group and team specific information will be shared via Facebook Groups and via the preferred chat groups Facebook/WhatsApp (depending on the age group preference).

If you need to talk with me about anything, I will be at the clubhouse at least two nights a week including every Wednesday night from 5pm. If you need to speak with me face-to-face, it’s best to email me to arrange a time to meet.

5. Kit bags

Each Team will be allocated a kit bag comprising training balls, match balls and cones. The match day balls are issued by Rugby WA and will be delivered closer to the commencement of the competition tentatively earmarked for late April. The head coach for each age group will obtain a training kit in the coming week so pre-season activities can commence. Managers kit will be issued closer to the commencement of the competition with all relevant material that they require.

6. Junior Coaches & Managers meeting

A Junior Coaches meeting will take place the Clubhouse on Monday 28th February at 6pm and a Junior Managers meeting will occur the following Monday 7th March also at 6pm. Stay tuned for updates that come from that meeting for each age group as the Coach and/or Manager will relay important messages to your age group.

That’s enough information for now, but stay tuned for further updates shortly.

Kind regards,

Andy
