About the Academy

The Wanneroo Academy of Rugby is a specialist off-season program designed for 14–18 year old male and female athletes who want to advance their skill sets to the next level.

Across two training blocks (off season and preseason ), players will develop their core rugby skills in alignment with a high-performance framework that combines on-field drills with strength and conditioning and speed and agility programs.

The focus is on building strong fundamentals — passing, catching, tackling, breakdown, kicking, and conditioning — in a way that’s fresh, engaging, and enjoyable. The Academy is about individual player development in a team setting.

$300 per player*

When:

Block 1: Mon 20 Oct – Wed 10 Dec 2025 (8 weeks) | Block 2: Mon 19 Jan – Wed 4 Mar 2026 (7 weeks)

Time:

Monday & Wednesday evenings, 5:30pm–7:30pm

Format:

3 x 30-minute rotations (2 on-field, 1 in gym)

15-minute introduction and conclusion each session

Coaching Team

The Academy will be led by Head Coach Junior Muna, who has a proven record across junior, women’s, and senior rugby, including coaching assignments with the following teams:

WA State U18s (Female) Coach (2025)
Western Force Super W Coaching Group (2021-2022)
North Region U17 Girls Coach (2022-2023)
Coaching Groups of Premiership-winning teams at Wanneroo including Premier Grade Men’s & Women (2025), Colts (2023), U18s (2023), Premier Grade Women (2019 ,2012)
Over a decade of experience developing young players for representative and elite pathways

Junior will be supported by a team of qualified assistant coaches and guest specialists, ensuring players receive expert guidance in both rugby and strength & conditioning. This coaching structure provides small-group attention, fresh insights, and exposure to a variety of coaching styles — all with one goal: to develop players to their full potential.
